Churn Clough Reservoir

About Churn Clough Reservoir

Churn Clough Reservoir is approximately 16 acres in size and is nestled high on the slopes of Pendle Hill, between Sabden and Clitheroe. Surrounded by moorland and wildlife, it’s a breathtaking and tranquil spot that feels more like the Scottish Highlands than Lancashire.

Why Churn Clough?

This water is open all year round, with regular rainbow trout stockings from Dunsop Bridge Trout Farm. The water is gin-clear, supporting a rich population of fly life including impressive Mayfly and Caddis hatches. Expect strong, well-fed fish and great topwater action during hatch periods.

Fishing Conditions & Access:

The dam wall is challenging to fish, but the far side has flat banks ideal for easy casting and access.
