A friendly East Lancashire fishing club offering scenic waters, community spirit, and rewarding experiences for anglers of all ages and abilities.
Churn Clough Reservoir is approximately 16 acres in size and is nestled high on the slopes of Pendle Hill, between Sabden and Clitheroe. Surrounded by moorland and wildlife, it’s a breathtaking and tranquil spot that feels more like the Scottish Highlands than Lancashire.
This water is open all year round, with regular rainbow trout stockings from Dunsop Bridge Trout Farm. The water is gin-clear, supporting a rich population of fly life including impressive Mayfly and Caddis hatches. Expect strong, well-fed fish and great topwater action during hatch periods.
The dam wall is challenging to fish, but the far side has flat banks ideal for easy casting and access.
Take in the views, enjoy the thrill of your next catch, and fish some of East Lancashire’s most scenic waters. Membership gives you year-round access to Churn Clough Reservoir and more — no gear or experience needed to get started.
Churn Clough is located between Sabden and Clitheroe, on the slopes of Pendle Hill, offering easy access by car and incredible views as you approach. Free parking is available near the access gate. Please park responsibly and do not block access tracks.
